2. GREEN is whats in now.

can anyone add more to this?
The *ONLY* reasons why green is worth more than gold is because:

It' s green.

It's new

It's rarer than gold (more difficult to find)

And like all fads people just want it because other people have it.

It's really not that difficult to see. Apply human psyche to it and voila!

no please, go on, I'd like to hear what else you think is very important in pvp and gvg. Also, could I have your ign and your guild name, so when I face you I know I've got a "w".

Oh shoot I forgot to mention I don't pvp in Ascalon so I doubt we will face each other.

Orvix Thang. You obviously didn't see my reply to you in the other thread, else you would not have gone off like that I'd imagine. Chill. Doesn't change the fact that's where the gold has been coming from none-the-less.

Also, what is the deal with this "Red Engine Gored" thing? What are we, two year olds?

Edit: No one answer that... as we all know some do act that way.

*Disclaimer* That edit is not aimed at ANY one individual, do not make the mistake and assume it was a personal attack.

Standard rule of business: if the prices on expensive items are dropping drastically you always buy....chances are far more likely that the prices will rise again than they are to just continue dropping. Eventually gold weapons will be the top prize in PvE again...once everyone realizes that the green items are nothing special. But just like business, everything is a risk, if you're willing to spend all your money on gold items at low prices you could reap the benefits later....or you could be dead broke.

why not? didnt a lot of people learned how to farm? didnt a lot of people got rich because of the re-starting of the price? It was expensive because it was, and still is, hard to find. as for my personal experience, after playing 400+ hrs of playing this game, i have never ever got a gold max damage Longsword, fellblade, crystalline and all that! and the peeps who found them first had the right to sell it for a lot of plat because it is a fact that it's still hard to find.

Strange things is,

I've never measured a players competency or quality by his weapons/items, never did I take a look on any PUG's weapons before joining them. To be proud of swinging a golden sword instead of a "lower" green or blue is the first sign of reality-loss. None of your weapons are an indication of your playing and cooperative qualities, no FOW armour will save you - though saving yourself now seems impossible considering how lowly your postings appear. Narcism at its best. Wake up!

I think the problem now will be that players will just buy tons of keys and then just run over and over to chests to get purple , gold items and green items. Sell them and do it over and over again until the prices of upgrades and these things just plumet to the deepest darkest pit in the ring of fire.

Basically the update just turned Guild wars into another Diablo.

THANK GUYS AT ARENA NET!

Hooray, another one. Listen, making these "coloured" items easier to find isn't a bad thing, nor does it make Guild Wars resemble Diablo in the slightest. Most would agree that prices dropping would only be a good thing. If all you live for is having "better" items than everyone else, then you've picked the wrong game.

It's not so much reality-lost
I tended to think that my Gold

Hale holy staff of enchanting:
Fire 10-19 dmg req 6 divine favor)
Improves casting speed (cahnce 10%)
Health +22
enchantments last 20% longer

Sucked compared to the other similar versions. Just because it isn't max dmg.

But when I sat down and though about it. It's a monk weapon! They NEVER attack!
Why would I need it max dmg? So I kept it. IT'S AWESOME I raise the dead very quickly, my enchantments last crazy long with Blessed aura.

I'm a great monk with it!

When I asked around people told me that the weapon itself was crap but if I salvaged the enchantment upgrade would be worth 80-100k.

Point of this story is:

People are in love with colors, big numbers and popularity.

NOT with Practicality and Availability.

If a Perfect collector's weapon was available, no one would want one (Other than us smart people who see the common sence in using a *good* item highly available to us) because everyone else has it.

Not to offend Algern in anyway. In fact it's a compliment in a twisted way but... why you haven't gotten PM's & he has is because Algern is the resident ahole & you aren't.

Mods plz don't hit me with the bann stick. Im only messing around with Algern.

Huge generalisation. I'm not in love with pretty colours, blinking lights and whatever's the "in" thing. I, and a lot of people, prefer maximum efficacy and cost effectiveness to the wallet-rapists you believe make the better player.

I actually do measure other players, at times, by their equipment. No, I'm not impressed when I see a firey dragon sword or fellblade (very few people can afford a properly modded 15>50 fellblade) on a warrior, a storm bow on a ranger, etc. Rather, I look at that and think "crap, he's on my team and he's using an inferior weapon."

All I read when anet was trying to cut bots, etc. was the complaints when they started nerfing stuff. Now anet does the reverse and floods the market causing everything to go down and complaints again.

If golds are dropping in price it's due to lack of demand so to they have to be sold at lesser cost. I'm so glad anet is flooding the world with items to make everything cheaper. And the green are a status symbol. Just like Fow Armor.

Anet has changed the game so the people who are use to the old economy and high priced items are being forced to change the way they play and of course there not going to like it. I love the changes becuase I can get thing cheaper and do more skill capture, quests, and mess around with PvP.
